A bit about Kristen
_
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Kristen has been visiting the Bayfield and Madeline Island area her entire life. Bayfield has been a vacation spot for her family for multiple generations and has continued through today. Kristen's family purchased the Pinehurst Inn - an eco-elegant bed & breakfast - in 1996 and Kristen moved to Bayfield permanently in 2007. Kristen considers Bayfield to be her home, "There's a very special moment as you're driving into Bayfield when you come around a bend on Highway 13 and you see this beautiful view of the Chequamegon Bay. It's that moment for me when I know I am home. I feel incredibly fortunate to live in an area with such strong roots and with such beautiful resources. This is a place meant to be shared and appreciated."
Kristen began working in customer service, management and marketing almost 15 years ago. Having worked for Radisson Hotels, Embassey Suites and Borders Books she certainly know the workings of the hospitality industry. In 2007 she took a position as the Marketing & Events Manager for the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Bureau. It was there that Kristen seemed to truly find her niche, "The moments when I was able to help a small business promote themselves in a way they hadn't thought of or simply didn't have time to do, I felt that I had finally figured out what I was good at. Since I know the operations side of this industry so well I know how difficult it can be to find the time to market yourself properly." This passion is what drove Kristen to start her own business. Small businesses struggle to survive, and Kristen hopes that she can bring her skills to the table and provide her clients with the tools to not only succeed, but to achieve the potential they strive for.
In the Fall of 2010 Kristen received her certification as a Guerrilla Marketing Coach, "Going through this certification, I have been taught how to work with my clients in a very different way. I now feel as if I can give my clients the skills and guidance to own their marketing strategies. It's the old adage, give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for life." With this certification, Kristen will help any small business set and achieve realistic goals resulting in more money in the bank, and more spare time for those busy small business owners.
In addition to working with small businesses to achieve their potential, Kristen also serves as a volunteer EMT in Bayfield, and works closely with her family at the Pinehurst Inn.
